Signs of a Marryable Guy

One of the tough parts about finding a husband is to know what to look for. Plenty of women have wasted plenty of time dating guys who, unbeknown to them, had little interest in getting married. Obviously, this is a very frustrating happening. To avoid this, it’s important to be able to spot a few clues that a guy is marriage material. This will save you a lot of time and effort in the dating world.

Wants Kids

This is the big one. Any guy who wants kids is going to be pretty marriage-minded. The tricky part with this one is finding out whether or not he wants kids. You don’t just want to come right out and ask him on the first date; that could scare him away. Hopefully he’ll disclose this information without much effort required on your part. Watch a movie with kids in it, hang out at some park where there are kids… try to gauge his sense for the whole thing. If he is adamant about not wanting kids, that’s a red-flag alert. He’s probably not a marryable guy.

Likes Fantasy Football

This sounds really weird, but guys who are super-obsessive about their fantasy football teams generally are the types of guys interested in getting married, whether or not they even realize it. Now, there is an important distinction to make here. If he is obsessive about fantasy football but plays it for money, it might not mean anything. However, guys who play fantasy football in a “free” league with their buddies are almost certainly the kind of guy you should be able to snag into marriage.

Traditional Upbringing

Men who were raised by two married parents are more likely to be interested in marriage themselves. They’ve seen firsthand a married couple for most of their lives. To them, marriage is very normal and natural. It’s “just what you do”. Men who were raised by a single parent are more likely to be jaded towards marriage or have a foreign understanding of it.

Religious

This is a big one. A guy who likes going to church on Sundays is prime marriage material. Society isn’t as religious today as it used to be. Sometimes a really Jesus-oriented guy can seem a little “out there”, so to speak. But don’t worry, it’s pretty harmless. A belief in some higher power is just a way for people to get through this crazy world we all live in.

In summary, when looking for a husband, look for a guy with a cross necklace talking about how he can’t wait to get home from visiting his parents to check on his fantasy football team. Nothing says “marryable guy” more than that!
