It wasn’t that long ago that the mere thought of the first time you set eyes on your man, caused a smile to take over your face. He was so good looking it took your breath away every time you looked at him. Every detail of this man was a work of art and you were happy to study it every chance you got. You were so enamored by his beauty that you were sure that every woman alive wanted a piece of him. It was even the cause of a few jealous arguments. But in the end he was yours and that was enough for you.
Being the lucky girl that you are, you scored big with this one; he was not only beautiful on the outside, but on the inside as well. He brought a peacefulness with him, and he unselfishly shared it with you. Whenever you were having a hard day, or stressed out for any reason, he was there for you. Every time you looked at him you would swear you felt your heart swell.
Now a couple of years into your relationship, you look at him and have to look a little harder to find those qualities that once were hard to miss. You might wonder if it is possible that your man could be losing his looks so quickly. It also occurs to you that your taste in men has changed. But then you realize that your taste in men is the same as it always has been; but the way you are looking at your man is not.
It’s takes a while for this new realization to sink in. It may be months before you are brave enough to study the face that once took your breath away. But when you finally force yourself to take a good long look at the man that is familiar and foreign all at the same time; what you see makes you do a double take.
It’s not that some mysterious metamorphosis took over the man you love, but when you realize what’s really going on, you will wish it did. What you are experiencing is seeing your man as he truly looks, for possibly, the first time.
A person’s capacity to show love and generosity can make them appear much more attractive than they are. That doesn’t mean that they are not actually attractive. It just means that they may not be beautiful in the traditional sense, but they can still end up being much more appealing, both physically and mentally. But when their personality or behavior changes, and not for the better, they rapidly lose their aesthetic appeal, and can actually start looking, ugly!
If you notice that you are not seeing twinkling stars floating around your man’s head when you look at him anymore, it’s probably because he has been acting less like a prince, and more like a frog.
